Each year, more and more people are turning to online resources for information on where to shop, eat, and do business. If you're not online, you're depending on word of mouth and physical advertising to bring in new customers, which can be especially difficult in a tourism-based economy like the Outer Banks. My goal is to increase your brand awareness, online presence, and customer base. Toucan Social is here to help with your digital marketing needs.

About Me

Victoria Dunn, owner of Toucan Social - Web Design

My name is Victoria Dunn. I was born on Hatteras Island, North Carolina and later moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. I went to Hollins University after receiving a photography scholarship and got my BA in Film Production and a minor in Psychology. I love the chance to be creative but am also very business-oriented. I'm always interested in learning more about the human mind and what makes it tick, and this has often aided me in various work and business environments.

After college and a semester of Study Abroad, I moved to London, England and got the opportunity to do short internships at two different post-production film studios.

In 2015, I moved back to the island, once again calling Hatteras village "home."

In 2020 I was tasked with designing an e-commerce store for my full-time employer, Teach's Lair Marina. It had been years since I had done any website work but I found myself truly enjoying it. That realization along with years of seeing local businesses with little to no online presence prompted me to create Toucan Social. I am constantly learning more about web design, SEO, social media, digital marketing, logo design, and so much more!

I truly love this little island and the lifestyle that comes with it. I am aware of the various challenges and struggles that local businesses face, and I want to help them to grow and succeed in our ever-changing economy.
